Italian I $99
A language journey to Italy. Students begin to learn Italian in an informal class setting. Pronunciation and vocabulary will be studied as well as the fundamentals for the language. This is a good course for anyone interested in traveling to Italy or for anyone who wants a cursory knowledge of “la bella lingua,” Italian. How to Write Children’s Books $89
To create character sketches, choose point of view, practice storyboarding, scene building, and develop plots. Creative nonfiction, fiction, and nonfiction formats, chapter and board books will be discussed. Share in-class writing exercises with classmates. Samples of cover, query letters, and marketing resources will be included.
Instructor: Marilyn June Janson, M.S, Ed., has taught creative writing classes for the Maricopa Community Colleges for six years and is the author of Tommy Jenkins: First Teleported Kid, and Recipe for Rage, a Novel. Her poetry, short stories, and articles are published in literary magazines and newspapers.

Simple Feng Shui $39

Introduction to Voice Over: Is it Just Talk? $59
Every TV and radio commercial has a “voice”; who provides them? Can you? Now there are opportunities to do Voice Over anywhere because of the Internet. Even if you’re not interested in doing Voice Over professionally, a Voice Over class can help you learn to express yourself more effectively and communicate more clearly. Find out what it’s all about, what you can expect and what would be expected of you. Students will have a brief hands-on experience in performing a script on mike and plenty of time for questions.

“The sound of our voice has five times the impact of what we say!” First impressions are often right. A voice “image” reflects who we are and how we’re feeling about ourselves in any given situation. We already have the tools to use in “recreating” the sound of our voice. By learning to use our breath correctly, we can change the rhythm/energy of our experience. Internet Safety $79
The purpose of this course is to educate students on the fundamentals of internet security. By the end of the course students will learn how firewalls, antivirus, antispyware, antirootkits, and in addition, how anti-intrusion systems in general work. They will see real life examples of intrusion methods as well as methods for subverting them. Students will become educated on routers, hubs, and switches as well as on government standard methods for encrypting wireless traffic. They will learn how to securely store their passwords, and how to keep such information out of the hands of prying eyes. In addition, students will learn how to encrypt portions of their hard drive to protect personally identifiable information (PII) from potential thieves. Students will also gain an understanding into what SSL encryption is and how it pertains to secure online purchasing. In addition, students will learn about the system registry as well as how to repair registry errors, remove viruses, spyware, and other malware programs. Topics such as cookies, browsers, and operating systems will be spoken about in detail. Students will become aware of what options they have should their computer systems become infected, and how to repair such issues.
